AWFlow 0.9 — workflows that tell you what happened, and never change under you

AWFlow 0.9 is the result of the Road to 1.0 program: a long pass over everything you touch when you build, run and fix a workflow. The goal was simple: a workflow should do what it says, tell you what happened, and keep doing it after an update.

In detail

One word per thing

The app now uses one plain word for each thing, everywhere: a workflow is made of steps (the node reference keeps the word node), you press Run (and Run step for one step), past runs are under Runs, a workflow is On or Off, and the accounts you link are Connections. Steps and triggers have plain names too: When I press Run, If, Route by value, Join branches, Keyboard shortcut, Test helper… The old names still work in search. See the glossary.

Your saved workflows keep working

AWFlow 0.9 changes how some steps and some workflow rules behave, but never for a workflow you already have:

each saved step keeps its version, and shows Update available when a newer one exists (Step versions);
each workflow keeps its behaviour (Classic for workflows made before 0.9), and you can preview and upgrade it when you want (Workflow behaviour versions).

Build faster

Map data by tapping a value, get suggestions and a live preview while typing an expression, open a full-screen expression editor, add steps from the keyboard, paste steps between workflows, tidy the canvas in one click, and keep values you reuse as variables. Step settings put the required fields first and say what the default is.

Run, debug, measure

Runs records every run, keeps the data of failed runs, and lets you Debug in editor or Run again. Test runs score an AI workflow on a dataset. Insights show how often your workflows run, fail and save you time.

Keep your data safe

Health checks your setup, backups keep an encrypted copy of everything on this device, drafts survive closing the panel, and two windows can no longer overwrite each other’s changes. See also Updating AWFlow.
